Jai Tomlinson and Brendan Flynn are the company Directors of Black Cat Civil Pty Ltd. Both have extensive experience in the earthmoving industry and have built strong relationships with numerous project construction companies as a result of their judgement and work ethic when it comes to recommending operators, machines and work methodology for a wide range of construction projects.
Prior to starting Black Cat in 2006, Jai owned and operated Tomlinson Earthmoving. Jai has been in the earthmoving industry for more than 25 years and in that time has developed his career from final trim excavator operator, through to leading hand, supervision and construction management roles. In 2010 Jai became a commercial helicopter pilot and has assisted in numerous flood recoveries in Qld mainly slinging fodder into flood-stricken farmland. In addition to Jai’s industry knowledge from working in the field, he has also furthered his business knowledge by graduating Executive Acumen (2015) and more recently his MBA majoring in Finance (2019). He is reliable, conscientious and has a keen eye for detail. Jai is passionate about business and encourages excellence for success from himself and his team.
Prior to founding Black Cat in 2006, Brendan owned and operated Flynn Earthmoving. During Brendan’s two and a half decades in the industry he has worked in a range of positions including starting from the humble beginnings as a grade checker, to becoming a final trim grader operator before spending numerous years as a supervisor. In the final years leading into Black Cat Civil, Brendan worked in the industry as an owner operator before joining forces with Jai. Through Brendan’s strong leadership, exceptional client interface skills and commitment to excellence, Black Cat has continued to break through growth targets and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for the business and its stakeholders.
